The Experience
The Etape Loch Ness is Scotland's largest closed-road cycling event, routing 106 km around the full circumference of Loch Ness on entirely traffic-free roads. Passing Urquhart Castle, Fort Augustus, and the Caledonian Canal, the route's key challenge is the Glendoe timed climb — 9 km at gradients up to 12% — before a fast return along the eastern shore to Inverness. Now in its 12th edition, it regularly sells out months in advance.
