The Experience
Germany's most prestigious mountain bike marathon, the Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon sends riders across 118 km of Hochschwarzwald forest trails and technical climbs from Kirchzarten. As a HERO UCI Marathon World Cup round, the 118 km flagship distance traverses the Feldberg (1,492 m, Black Forest's highest peak) and the Schauinsland summit (1,239 m) with 3,550 m of elevation gain, including the legendary Alpe de Fidlebrugg at 20% gradient. Founded in 1997 by Mike Kluge, it draws around 5,000 riders annually.
